CAREER & PERSONAL | Links are below
A Denver Colorado native, Danna resided in Oakland County, Michigan from 1976-1996 where she owned Garden Level Studios, specializing in book illustration, specialty catalogs, oil portraits & murals. While creating commissioned murals for a Detroit interior designer, Danna learned the art of Faux Painting Techniques on interior walls, which led her to pursue Interior Design arts. She was married to Don Clark, who passed away in 1996. At that time, Danna moved with their sons, back to Colorado, and opened her studio in Denver, with concentration in clay, oil painting, and commissioned murals.
In 2000, she married Clyde Tullis, a professional potter, owner of Mudlark Pottery Studio & Art Gallery in Salida,CO and she moved to Salida, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. An interesting article about Clyde is below. Danna opened Highlights Interiors, contracting remodel and interior design projects, commercial and private murals, and portrait commissions. She also opened her art instruction academy, "The Creative Edge", housed at the Salida Community Center; and she tutored drawing and painting at Salida Montessori, and Breckenridge Day School. While in Salida she served the Chaffee County Visitors Bureau as Vice President; and Salida Community Center as President.
Danna and Clyde established Creative Resources & Venues in 2009 and produced more than 50 annual Art & Music events in Denver, Colorado Springs, Parker, and Salida; including two for KRCC Radio, of CC College, Colorado Springs (Blues Under The Bridge). 'CRV Festivals' was permanently closed in 2019 during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In 2010, they moved their studios to Denver. Danna taught drawing and painting classes at Aurora Montessori School, Denver Public Libraries, and Community Centers and Retirement Homes in the Front Range area. After closing The Creative Edge, she was employed as a bathroom designer and sales representative; and later, as Project Manager for a Cherry Creek, Denver interior design firm, specializing in kitchen design.
Current residence is in Colorado Springs, since 2018. Danna enjoys their pet Labradoodle, a nightly chess game with Clyde, music concerts, comedian specials, movies, cooking, reading, oil painting; and precious visits with their youngest grandson, Cayden. She has two sons, 3 steps sons, a step-daughter, and 4 grandchildren.
